IGLAS,
THE LINDEN-PETERS FIRE DISTRICT would like to thank you
for the opportunity to comment on this proposed project.
Fire Chief Pete Mohl and I have reviewed the preliminary
plans for this oroJect located west of Harrison Street and
north of Grace Street in Linden.
The following are some of the concerns of the Fire
District related to both fire protection and life safety'
1' Increased traffic on !one Street'
a' The width of the street as it exists does
not afford adequate access for fire
equipment. Additional traffic would worsen
this problem' We suggest widening the
street from Hwy 26 to the new project.
b' Provide four way stop controls at both
_ Front Btraet and Grace Street. This would
reduce the possibilities of traffic
accidents and provide a safe crossing for
school children and local citizens. This
may also help reduce the speed of the '
!
traffic.
2. Water system.
a. The water mains shall be a looped system.
b. Fire hydrants shall conform to the county
requirements for; size, type, spacing,
emergency shut-off valves, etc' '
c. The Fire District shall be consulted on all
aspects of the water/fire hydrant system
during the further planning of this
project. |
