Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage Existing Septic System ✓ The existing residence has a septic system composed of a 1,600 gallon tank, two lines, and two sumps. The lines are 40 feet and 100 feet in length; each terminates in a sump. Proposed Septic System /According to the proposed site plan, the new winery building will utilize a new septic system for a small restroom On-Site Septic Permit History ✓Two septic system repair permits were found for the on-Site residence during file review at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. In December 1988 a new system was installed to replace an existing septic system. The new system is composed of a 1600 gallon tank, D-box, 100 feet of leach line, and a 2 x 10 x 15 foot sump. In 2004, an additional 40-foot line and identical sump were added. Other permits for water wells were also identified for the property. No permits for new septic system installation were identified. All permits for the property are attached in Appendix 5. / Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity !/ To determine the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that exist approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery from GoogleEarthTm was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, we determined that there are a minimum of 15 septic systems per square mile in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
