Development
940 East Harney Lane
Lodi, CA 95240
Subject: ADDENDUM TO SOILS SUITABILITY AND
NITRATE LOADING STUDY
ANDERSON STREET SUBDIVISION
CLEMENTS, CALIFORNIA
Reference: Kleinfelder, "Soils Suitability and Nitrate Loading Study,
Anderson Street Subdivision, Clements, California," File
No. 22276.G01, November S, 2002
Kleinfelder, "Addendum to Soils Suitability and Nitrate
Loading Study, Anderson Street Subdivision, Clements,
California,"File No. 22276.G01, June 9, 2003
Dear Mr. Wright:
Kleinfelder is pleased to present this addendum to the referenced soil suitability and nitrate
loading study for a proposed subdivision to be located east of the intersection of Anderson and
Almond Streets in Clements, California. This addendum presents the results of a second set of
percolation retests for parcel 2 of the subject subdivision. We understand that because of the
location of a leach field on an adjacent property, the proposed leach field area for proposed
parcel 2 was moved to accommodate the relocation of the residential well for this parcel. We
understand that the first retests performed for our June 9 addendum were not located within the
area of the proposed leach field.
The subsurface conditions at the site were explored for this retest on June 12, 2003, by drilling
two percolation borings to depths between approximately 3.5 and 19.8 feet below existing grade.
The borings were drill'edtising a Simco 2400 truck-mounted drill rig equipped with 6-inch O.D.
solid-stem auger. The location of these percolation retests was approximately 100 feet west and
90 feet south of the northeast parcel corner and is presented on the attached plate.
Based on our findings, the subsurface soils encountered consisted of interbedded layers of
weakly cemented to non-cemented brown sandy silts and silty sands to the depths explored.
22276.G02/ST03L327 June 16,2003
©2003 Kleinfelder,Inc.
