At the 42-inch depth, the bottom of this boring was
t beginning to break through the hardpan, with the soil classified as a fine-to-medium sandy silt.
PERC TION TESTING
Thtwopere st borings were drilled on February 24, 2009. After drilling, the sidewalls were
scored with afpry-bar and the loose material removed. Two inches of pea gravel was placed at the
bottom-of-each boring to prevent scour and three-inch perforated PVC pipe was inserted in the test
borings. The two perc test borings were pre-saturated on this day at 1130 hrs with 12 inches of
clear water in accordance with EHD regulations.
On February 25, 2009, 0900 hrs, percolation testing commenced for the two borings. No pre-soak
water remained overnight in both test borings; therefore, EHD Test Procedure#2 was conducted.
The last half hour of the tests was witnessed by Ted Tasiopoulos, R.E.H.S. of the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department. The following Table summarizes the Parcel, septic /
system structure to be installed based on depth of acceptable perc rates, Street Address/A.P.N.
Number, post soak period status after 24 hrs and percolation test results at the perc test depth:
TABLE I
PERCOLATIONsTESTORESULTS TED:DATA
LOT NUMBER AND ADDRESS PERC TEST DEPTHS: POST-SOAK PERC TEST
SEPTIC SYSTEM SHALLOW PERIOD RESULTS
STRUCTURE TO BE
INSTALLED A.P.N.NUMBER DEEP— STATUS
j ,r.-----
Designated 26305 S.Austin Road 336 INCHES No Standing X19.2 min/in
Remainde Manteca 366 _ Water in Hole
Leachlines 257-210 42 INCHESNo Standing 10.0 min/in
1_ water in Hole
CONCLUSIONS
Acceptable percolation rates were achieved in both test borings representative of leachlines in the
future effluent disposal area of Mr. Cunningham's home. According to depth-to-groundwater maps
at EHD, the water table is approximately 20 feet below grade. Since the project is located in the
"High Water Table Area" as denoted on the EHD map illustrating soil types and septic system
requirements, EHD will require 100 feet of leachline for each bedroom within the new residential
structure.
k
Page -2-
Chesney Consulting
'
