C)
February 25, 2009
Project Number 10.09
FOR: Mr. David Cunningham
Mr. Josh CunninghameG'' y
9836 Melton Road
Manteca, CA 95337 ,+ ►
PROJECT: 26305 South Austin Road
Manteca, CA 95366
APN 257-210-15
SUBJECT: Percolation Testing for a Residential Septic System.
INTRODUCTION
Chesney Consulting has been retained by Mr. Josh Cunningham to conduct percolation testing at
his future residence, located at the address referenced above. The property consists of a 38-acre
Designated Remainder Parcel that was subdivided in 2004. The proposed residence is to be
constructed approximately 870 feet west of the intersection of Austin Road and Moncure Road, /
and 85 feet south of a private road owned by the Cunningham's.
Percolation testing had been previously conducted on the subject Parcel when a 2-acre homesite
Parcel was subdivided near the east-center property line of the 40-acre orchard, as illustrated on
the S.J.C. District Viewer Map in Appendix A. This initial perc test was conducted by Neil
Anderson and Associates for completion of a Soil Suitability Study for the original Minor
Subdivision. The policy of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) is
to have percolation testing conducted within 100 feet of the proposed installation of a septic
system leachfield.
The percolation test locations and effluent disposal area for Mr. Cunningham's new home are
denoted on the attached Site Plan drawn by Mr. Josh Cunningham, and found in Appendix B.
Acceptable percolation was determined in both 36-inch and 42-inch deep perc test borings,
which are representative of typical and maximum leachline trench depths.
r
SUBSURFACE SOIL STRUCTURE
Percolation test borings were hand-drilled in the effluent disposal area. A field log-of-boring was
made from soil auger cuttings, which is found on the EHD Percolation Test Rate Form found in
i Appendix C. Soil characteristics are described using the Unified Soil Classification System
(USCS).
Page -1-
P. O.
