f. No Impact: There are no private airstrips ne rr the proposed project
g. No impact: The proposed landfill expansion WOUld not after rr odlery itie affect any
emergency response plan. It would include emergency reponse and disaster contingency
plans. Emergency access, including, road %vidths and clearances would be maintained.
h. No Impact; The proposed landfill expansion is in an area surrounded by agricultural,
landfill, and prison land uses v"ith fev residences or wildlands_ As described in the project
description, the project also would include fire suppression equipment and plans. Therefore, it
would not have any impact on wild.larid fires.
VIII. HYDROLOGY AND WATER QUALITY
a. Potentially Significant Impact: The proposed landfill expansion could violate water quality
standards. This issue will be analyzed in the Supplemental Eli:.
b. Less than Significant Impact: The project's groundwater use, creel; relocation, and leachate
extraction would not significantiv alter the quantity, flow, or recharge of groundwater in the
project site vicinity.
c. Less than Significant Impact: The project %%1ou.ld alter• thc course of the North Branch of the }}}►►►
South Fisk of Little Johns Creek. This is described in the Ell' i'rcrjut Description. As described
in this initial Studyv
's Project Description, the creek reali;nme.nt has been refined to include a
broader flood plain. In addition, a stormwater deten0o;.I pond is included i.ri the project. As
described on p. III.K.12 of the E1R, this realignment, in cr,ntbination with the detention pond,
would not result in substantial eroSi{rit or sedimettation.
d. Potentially Significant Impact: The proposed landfill expansi011 could alter drainage patterns
and result in erosion or siltation. This issue will be analvzed in the Supplemental EIR.
e. Potentially Significant Impact: The proposed landfill expansion could generate runoff that
would exceed the capacity of drainage systems or be a source of polluted runoff. This issue will
be analyzed in the Supplemental FiR.
f. Potentialiy Significant Impact: The proposed landfill expansion could degrade water quality.
This issue v<,ill be analyzed in the Supplemental EIR.
g. No Impact: The proposed landfill expansion \would not include any housing.
h. Less than Significant Impact: The project would realign the on-site creek as described in item
(d), above. This realignment will relocate the "100-year flood plain on the site. The realigned
stream channel would be designed to retain all 100-year flood flows within the overall riparian
corridor. It also would include a detention basin to limit peak flows to below existing levels.
Therefore, although flood flaws would be impeded, this would .not be an adverse impact.
i. Potentially Significant Impact: The proposed landfill expansion could expose people or
structures to flooding damage. This issue will be analyzed in the Supplemental FIR.
j. No Impact: The project site is not near a body of water subject to seiche or tsunamis. It is not
near any hills or slopes that could be the source of niudflo\vs.
-24-
