April 4, 2012
Current Status: Dense screening vegetation consisting of oak trees, oleander,
and onsite berms exist along Austin Road in the area of the original Forward
Landfill. Current landfill operations are being performed several hundred
feet west of Austin Road. This area is a sufficient distance away from Austin
Road to shield residents and motorists along Austin Road from views of
landfill operations. Night lighting will be oriented to face away from
residents and motorists
(18) 85 Austin 1994 (M.d), Austin 2000(M.d)
At any time in the development of the expanded landfill when additional
lighting is proposed, preliminary lighting designs should be sent to the
Northern California Women's Facility for review and comments.
Current Status: Forward is not currently planning on installing additional
lighting. Forward will send preliminary lighting designs to the Northern
California Women's Facility for review and comments if and when
additional lighting is planned. In addition, the California Women's Facility
is currently closed.
(19) 86 (K.5)
Proposed as Part of the Project:
Whenever possible, the working face will be oriented to the downwind side
of prevailing winds to help reduce litter.
Current Status: Whenever possible, the working face will be oriented to the
downwind side of prevailing winds to help reduce litter.
2. PUBLIC WORKS (Staff Contact: Adam Brucker, 209-468-3000)
a. 3 (B.1)
Proposed as Part of the Project:
The County has determined that the applicant shall contribute their fair
share of the signal installation at the intersection of Austin Road/Mariposa
Road. A previous study (Austin Road Landfill EIR, 1999) identifies a
mitigation measure that included the applicant's contribution to the
installation of a traffic signal at Austin Road/Mariposa Road. This is
included in existing permit requirements and is assumed to occur as part
of baseline conditions.
Current Status: Forward has paid the traffic mitigation fee.
b. 4 (B.2)
Identified in EIR:
Page 9
