DETERMINATION OF ELEVATIONS OF EXISTING DAIRY PRODUCTION AREA AND PROPOSED
EXPANSION AREA WITHIN FEMA ZONE AE
An engineering survey was performed in order to determine the actual existing elevations of facilities within
the DPA relative to the estimated flood elevation. USGS benchmarks were used to establish elevations
based on NAVD88 datum. A three dimensional model of the existing terrain was generated using the
engineering survey performed on the existing DPA improvements in order to compare actual elevations to
those of the BFE. Contours of that model are shown on Exhibit C, Existing Topography—Existing
Improvements.
It is apparent upon visual inspection that portions of the DPA were raised above existing grade during
construction. However only approximately 25%of the existing DPA is constructed to elevations equal to or
greater than the BFE; approximately 75%of the existing DPA is constructed to elevations below the BFE
and thus would be subject to inundation by the 100-year storm event. Exhibit C indicates those areas
constructed above and below the BFE.
Flood Protection Analysis Proposed Delta Woods Dairy Expansion San Joaquin County. CA
