Without drilling down to groundwater, it is our estimate that the <br /> groundwater is about 10 - 15 feet below the surface but it may be deeper. On March 24,2005, a <br /> ground water boring was excavated by our office at 4927 West 11ffi Street. No ground water was <br /> encountered to a depth of 10 feet. This site is about three quarters of a mile east of the subject <br /> property. <br /> 4.2:According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the 448-acre Tracy Defense <br /> _ —.Depot site was an Army Supply.Depot from.1942 to 1963 when it was turned over to the Defense <br /> Logistics Agency. Operations at the facility included repacking leaking chemical containers, _ <br /> fumigating shipping materials,maintaining vehicles, painting, storing chemicals, preserving metal <br /> parts, operating chemical and photographic laboratories, storing and mixing pesticides,and storing <br /> and treating liquid and solid wastes. The Depot stored and treated their liquid waste in many <br /> different locations on the property,including lined and unlined storage ponds and <br /> Rb oveground/underground waste tanks. Hazardous materials (i.e. solvents, radioactive materials, <br /> medical supplies, and both solid and liquid chemicals) were disposed of in three burn pits on the <br /> property. Former solid waste treatment and storage areas (i.e. food items, construction material and <br /> mercury phosphate) were also on the property. Currently, all solid hazardous waste is hauled off site <br /> to Federally-approved disposal facilities.
