2.2 Proposed Development
A minor subdivision is proposed to divide the property into a homesite parcel, ten- cre
Parcel 1, and a designated remainder. No changes in use of the Site are propose
2.3 Topography
A recent U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map was obtained from the
San Joaquin County District Viewer. In the map, the Site is depicted as open,
agricultural land. The property is approximately 75 to 90 feet above mean sea level with
a slight grade down to the northeast. Surrounding properties are shown to be open
agricultural land and orchard; the Tracy Defense Depot is adjacent to the west. This
map is included as Plate 3 in Appendix 1.
3.0 HISTORICAL RESEARCH
3.1 Aerial Photographs
Live Oak reviewed aerial photographs of the Site provided by the San Joaquin County
Surveyor's Office in Stockton, California. The available photographs were dated 1940,
1952, 1963, and 1975. Two additional photographs, dated October 1998 and June
2006, were obtained from the San Joaquin County District Viewer.
In the 1940 photo, the Site appears to used for fodder or row crops. One or more
structures and a driveway can be seen near the southeast corner of the Site. Most
other properties in the area appear to be used for fodder or row crops; an industrial
facility with three round structures (Lyoth Loading Station) is adjacent to the north.
In the 1952 photo, the Tracy Defense Depot can be seen to the west. Several
structures can be seen on the adjacent parcel to the east. No other significant changes
are apparent.
In the 1963 photo, the industrial facility with three round structures to the north can no
longer be seen. No other significant changes are apparent.
In the 1975 photo, it appears that a new structure is present near the driveway on the
Site. The adjacent land to the north now appears to be an orchard. The scale of the
photo is such that identification of site-specific details is difficult. No other significant
changes are apparent.
In the 1998 photo, the Site has been planted with orchard. The orchard has been
removed from the adjacent parcel to the north, and new structures are present there.
LOGE 1303 Page 2
