Additional structures or objects are present on the adjacent property to the east as well.
An adjacent property to the south is now an orchard.
In the 2006 photo, the orchard on the Site has been removed. The former structure(s)
on the Site have been replaced with the current house and shop. The adjacent orchard
to the south has also been removed.
These photos are included in Appendix 3 of this report.
4.0 SITE INSPECTION
Live Oak inspected the site on March 8, 2013. Photographs of the Site are attached to
this report as Appendix 2. The boundaries of the Site were inspected, as well as the
vicinity of the residence and shop.
The Site is a young walnut orchard. A house and shop are located on the eastern side
of the Site. The domestic well is located behind the house.
To the south of the Site is an orchard. To the west are railroad tracks, followed by a
portion of the Tracy Defense Depot. To the north is a trailer storage business. To the
east is Banta Road, followed by the Olin Chlor Alkali facility.
5.0 INTERVIEWS
5.1 Interview with Property Owners
Ken Robertson was interviewed by telephone on March 8, 2013. He indicated that he
and his sister inherited the Site a few years ago. His stepmother lives in the house, and
his cousin farms the Site under the name of K&H Farms. Mr. Robertson stated that the
walnut orchard was planted last year. Prior to that, the Site was used to grow alfalfa
and a variety of other crops; it was an orchard in the past as well. The house on the
Site was built in 2005, he indicated. A domestic well is located behind the house; the
Site has no irrigation well because it gets water from the Banta Carbona Irrigation
District. Mr. Robertson stated that the shop behind the house is not used for farming
equipment, it is used for storage of domestic items. He was not aware of any above-
ground or underground fuel tanks, chemical storage, automotive maintenance activities,
dumping, or other environmental hazards on the Site. Mr. Robertson was also not
aware of any contamination from the surrounding properties affecting the Site or ground
water beneath the Site.
LOGE 1303 Page 3
