C)
Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage
Maximum expected septic usage on the Site would be from the existing and any future
residential uses. Septic system design should be based on the On-Site Wastewater
Disposal Standards (2003) or other engineering recommendations.
Ground Water Information
Depth and Gradient
Live Oak reviewed ground water elevation information available from the San Joaquin
County Flood Control and Water Conservation District to determine the ground water
levels near the Site. Data from fall of 2008 and spring of 2009 were the most recent
available from this sou E ing to an analysis of these maps (Plates 5 and 6),
groundwater elevatio i , 45 to 55 et above mean sea level; groundwater flows down
to the north or northea t at a rate of .7 to 10 feet per mile in the vicinity of the Site.
Given that the ground elevation of the Site is approximately 78 to 93 feet, the depth to
water below the Site is estimated to range between 23 to 48 feet, depending on the time
of year.
Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues
The Soil Suitability Study isno intended to be an investigation into ground-water
contamination sources, and n such investigation was conducted. Many sources can
contribute to ground water contamination, including leaking underground storage tanks,
agricultural activities, dairies, septic systems, and storm water infiltration. Agricultural /
activities and the use of septic systems in the area are known ground water
contamination sources with the potential to impact the Site.
The Site is located close to the Tracy Defense Depot; the Environmental Health
Department is requiring new wells in the area to have a grout seal to 200 feet to
address groundwater contamination issues.
On-Site Wells
One domestic well exists on the Site, as depicted on Plate 2. Three well permits were
found during a recent file review at San Joaquin County Environmental Health /
Department:
• 1995 permit for installation of replacement domestic well.
• 1996 permit for well repair.
2005 permit for pump replacement.
L.OGE0916 Page 3
