Past Uses of the Site <br /> Per conversation with Mr_ Robertson, the Site has been agricultural I nd since the <br /> 1940s or earlier. The western half was orchard for approximately 25 ye rs; the orchard <br /> was removed about four years ago. <br /> Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage <br /> Existing Septic System <br /> One septic system exists on the Site. Details of the system are unknown; it may date to l <br /> the original construction of the residence in 1949. <br /> Proposed Septic System <br /> A new home may be placed on the designated remainder parcel sometime in the future. <br /> If so, it will utilize a new septic system- <br /> On-Site Septic Permit History <br /> No permits for septic systems on the Site were identified at the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department. <br /> i <br /> Three permits related to water wells were identified for the Site. These permits are <br /> attached in Appendix 4. <br /> Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity <br /> To determine the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic <br /> systems that exist approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo <br /> imagery from GoogleEarthTm was used. Each building cluster on the photo was <br /> assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, we determined that there is a <br /> minimum of 14 septic systems per square mile in the immediate vicinity of the Site. <br /> The general area primarily consists of farmland with occasional rural residences. The <br /> Tracy Defense Depot is located approximately one-eighth of a mile to the northeast. <br /> Septic Permit History in the Vicinity <br /> Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the SanJoa County <br /> .Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, the septic sy ms in th area <br /> appear to utilize leach lines.
