Proposed Direction of Project The additional site characterization work plan with modifications as requested by SJCEHD includes the work outlined below. As this work is being performed and information is being obtained, GTI will evaluate it to determine if modifications should be made to streamline the investigative process and bring cost savings to the client and the Fund. Additional Site Characterization Work • prepare work plan & addendum • perform a well survey with in a 1000 foot radius • install 4 groundwater monitoring wells to further define the plumes lateral extent • install 1 deep groundwater monitoring wells to define vertical-extent of contamination • test soil samples as required from each borehole for TPH-G, BTEX, and MTBE • test selected soil samples for geophysical and geochemical parameters • test water samples from each monitoring well for TPH-G, BTEX, and MTBE • perform quarterly groundwater monitoring and reporting • perform monthly groundwater level measurements • perform a receptor survey, pathway and fate and transport evaluation • prepare a report summarizing the site characterization data Listed below is a proposed schedule for implementing this project. Proposed Bidding of Proiect To remain in compliance with the USTCFP, GTI requested V&W Drilling to prepare a bid for drilling and installing the 5 groundwater monitoring wells and SimulProbe to prepare a bid for use of their soil and pore water sampling tool. We have found V&W and SimulProbe to be very cost effective for three primary reasons: • reasonable charge rate, • fast drilling and sampling equipment, • well trained crew. These costs have been included in our budget spread sheet prepared giving estimated costs for performing the work approved by SJCEHD. The budget spread sheet is attached and shows itemized cost for the tasks proposed. In an attempt to make this Pre-Approval flow smoothly,we have used the same unit costs for this work that has previously been approved by the USTCFP for other projects. Geological Technics Inc. accepts field support services and lab invoices and adds a 15% overhead fee. We then pay these charges and assist our client complete the USTCFP reimbursement claim. Construction contractors will invoice our clients direct since GTI is not a licensed contractor.
