Past Uses of the Site
Based on information reviewed for the Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report
(Live Oak, 2015), the Site has been used for agriculture since 1937 or earlier. It
appears that the buildings on the Site were constructed from the 1800s through the
1970s.
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
According to the tentative parcel map (Quartaroli, 2015), two septic systems are
currently located on the Site, one at each house.
Proposed Septic System
Mr. Navarra indicated that no new construction is planned for the Site.
On-Site Septic Permit History
One septic system permit for the Site was identified at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department. The permit, dated June 1981, was for the addition
of two 80-foot leach lines and two 48-inch diameter seepage pits to an existing
residential septic system at 25144 South Bird Road. A copy of the permit has been
included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems that exist within approximately four square miles surrounding the property.
Aerial imagery from GoogleEarth was used. Each building cluster on the photograph
was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that six or
more septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The general area consists orchards and agricultural land with scattered rural
residences. To the northwest of the Site is the Rhodes-Stockton Bean Co-op facility.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, it appears that the septic
systems in the area utilize leach lines, leach lines with sumps, or filter beds. The septic
permits can be found in Appendix 4 of this report.
LOGE 1502 Page 2
