A ,,
geological Technics Inc. Page 7
C&B Equipment
Monitoring Well Installation Report
Project No.336.2
rr November 13
, 1995
In summary the site's hydrology has been shown to be relatively consistent since it
has been monitored with the exception of intermittent changes in the elevation of the
water table.
3.3 Hydrocarbon Distribution in the Soil
Soil samples collected during this phase of the investigation were tested at
Sherwood Laboratories of Hilmar (State Certified Laboratory#1400) for BTEX using
= EPA method 602, TPH-Gasoline EPA method 5030/8015(m), TPH-Diesel using EPA
method 3510/8015(m) and total lead by 7420. The detection limits for these
compounds are listed below. In summary no petroleum hydrocarbons were
_{ detected in the lateral definition soil borings. Total lead was detected in levels
consistent with background concentrations. Thus we conclude that the lateral
distribution of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil has been defined to the vicinity of
the former UST excavation. This data is summarized below.
Soil Sample Analytical Data
Benzene Toluene Ethyl Total TPH TPH Total
benzene Xylenes Gasoline Diesel Lead
Date Boring/Depth /k /k /k /k mg/kg mg/kg mg/k
07-25-95 MW-1 6-6.5' ND(<3.0) ND(<3.0) ND(<3.0) ND(<3.0) ND(<1.0) ND(<5.0) 7.38
07-25-95 MW-1 6-6.5' ND(<3.0) ND(<3.0) ND(<3.0) ND(<3.0) ND(<1.0) ND(<s.a) 8.64
07-25-95 MW-1 6-6.5' ND(<3.0) ND(<3.0) ND(<3.0) ND(<3.0) ND(<1.0) ND(<5.0) 6.89
ND=non detect(detection limits in parentheses)
rl
3.4 Hydrocarbon Distribution in the Groundwater
The concentration of gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons in the groundwater
near the point of release has remained fairly consistent with concentration over the
two rounds of groundwater sampling not varying more than an order of magnitude.
Groundwater samples were tested at Sherwood Laboratories of Hilmar (State
Certified Laboratory #1400) for BTEX using EPA method 602, TPH-Gasoline using
EPA method 5030/8015(m), TPH-Diesel using EPA method 3510/8015(m) and total
lead by 7420.
