i
Item No. 1
PC: 11-5-92
SU-91-15
Page 26
G. SCHOOLS
G.1. Potentially Significant Impact: Increased demand for schools.
This project is expected to generate approximately 136 K-6 grade students, 36 7-8 grade
students, and 69 9-12 grade students at buildout, which will worsen school overcrowding in the
Lodi Unified School District
Finding:
Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into, the project which avoid or
substantially lessen the significant environmental effects as identified in the Final EIR. These
mitigation measures are listed below.
Statement of Fact:
The developer has an agreement with the Lodi Unified School District to provide funding for the
E construction of the school facilities necessary to serve the students to be generated by the
proposed project
II. IMPACTS WHICH ARE NOT MITIGATED TO LESS THAN SIGNIFICANT LEVELS
This section identifies thos impacts which, according to the FEIR, cannot be mitigated to less than
significant levels, despite adoption of the identified mitigations.
A.
Significant !m act: Impact on oak trees.
Development of the site will result in the loss of oak trees and oak woodland habitat. Sixteen oak
trees would be removed, and the drip lines of at least five others would be encroached into. An
additional 21 to 42 of the 210 oak trees in the area to be residentially developed could be
affected. All of the recommended mitigation measures in the FEIR have been required in an effort
to mitigate this impact to the extent practicable.
Findings:
Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into, the project which avoid or
t substantially lessen the significant environmental effect as identified in the Final EIR.
i Statements of Fact:
i
The required mitigation measures will significantly reduce the impact of residential development
on the oak trees. These mitigation measures are as follows:
• Design the underlying project to maintain and protect the project site to the maximum
extent feasible (i.e., via utilization of cluster homes with common open space).
