January 12,2007
NOA Project Number: E06157A
4.0 GROUND WATER INFORMATION
4.1 Ground Water Depth and Gradient
The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (1998 and 1999) ground
Fiwater depth and elevation maps were reviewed to determine the ground water levels near the Site.
The Fall 1998 and Spring 1999 maps are the most current official maps available from the County.
According to these maps (Plates 3-6),ground water lies between 160 and 170 feet below ground
surface and flows at an indeterminate gradient.
No ground water was encountered by the staff of Neil O.Anderson&Associates, Inc. during the
drilling of a percolation test hole to a depth of 25 feet on December 11,2006.
Y 4.2 Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues
F
Identifying potential ground-water contamination sources was not part of the scope of work for the
soil suitability study. Potential ground-water contamination can occur from a number of sources
which often include leaky underground storage tanks, agricultural activities, dairies, septic systems,
and storm water infiltration. Agricultural activities, dairies and the use of septic systems in the area
should be considered potential ground-water contamination sources.
4.3 Water Sample Location
According to Eric Holden, no well exists on the subject property. No well permits were found
#- during file review at the EHD on January 5, 2007. No well water sample was taken.
4.4 Water Sample Constituents
No well exists on the site. No well water sample was collected or analyzed.
F 5.0 SOIL PROFILE AND GEOLOGIC INFORMATION
The Site is depicted on the USGS Preliminary Geologic Map of the Bellota Quadrangle as within the
Tertiary Laguna Formation. The Tertiary Laguna Formation is made up of interbedded alluvial
! I gravel, sand and silt. Pebbles and cobbles of quartz and sediments are invariably arkosic.(Plate 7).
The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the San Joaquin County Soil Survey
to be composed of Montpelier-Cometa complex, 8-15% slopes (Plate 8) (USDA, 1992). Table 2
presents some selected properties of these soils:
C F1
_
4 -
