Box 12 <br /> Volcano, CA 95689 <br /> RE: Traffic Volume Survey and Investigation of the Clements Road/Brandt Road <br /> Intersection Located in the County of San Joaquin, California <br /> o . <br /> ' Dear Mr. Ketron: I <br /> This letter report summarizes a traffic volume survey conducted at the intersection of <br /> Clements Road and Brandt Road and existing lane geometries and traffic control -- based <br /> on a field investigation of the intersection. Also, County of San Joaquin staff were contacted <br /> in regards to any planned improvements at the subject intersection. <br /> This report was prepared as background information related to a County Use Permit being <br /> Pursued by KRC Aggregate which is located +/- 3.5 miles east of the Clements Rd./Brandt <br /> Rd. intersection. The Use Permit is necessary to expand the existing mining area <br /> surrounding the KRC plant. Plant operations will remain the same and consequently the <br /> number of vehicle trips to and from the plant will remain status quo. The subject <br /> intersection serves as the main access point from KRC Aggregate, via Brandt Road, to the <br /> regional street system. <br /> DESCRIPTION OF INTERSECTION <br /> The Clements Road/Brandt Road intersection is located 3 miles south of State Route 12 <br /> at 17900 N Clements Road and 19500 Brandt Road. Traffic is controlled by stop signs on <br /> the eastbound and westbound approaches of Brandt Road. Pavement width on the Brandt <br /> Road approaches is 22 feet. Pavement width on the Clements Road approaches is 24 feet. <br /> County maintained right-of-way is 60 feet and 55 feet for Clements Road and Brandt Road, <br /> respectively. Brandt Road is posted "Speed Limit 40" eastbound immediately east of <br /> Clements Road.
