The
trucks are characterized as "Heavy Trucks" 80,000 GVW/ 25 ton
legal payloads . At the level of traffic service anticipated heavy
trucks dominate the noise LEQ due to traffic .
For prediction of traffic related noise , the US Department
of Transportation Federal Highway Traffic Noise Prediction model
was used (FHWA-RD-77-108) . This model generated the 55 d$a LEQ
contour shown for daytime noise along the haul route. Hauling
will not occur between the hours of 10PM and 7AM.
Combined Noise
The estimated noise from both stationary and mobile sources
were combined using our computerized noisecalculation program.
The exhibits reflect the combined stationary and mobile noise
sources .
The resultant estimated 65 dBa LDN contour lies well within !
the boundaries of the Darwin Farms holdings , based on the above
stated operating parameters . If conditions such as plant
location , size of mill feed , or plant size and production rate
should change , then a re-evaluation of the noise impacts should
be performed . We also would recommend some field measurements to
verify the predictive model if and when the plant is placed into I
operation . y
If you need any further clarification of this analysis
please contact me .
incerel
on Deem
Reg.
