A.portion of <br /> the site, approximately 414 acres, is owned bya large chicken'farming operation, <br /> SKS Enterprises Inc. Surrounding land.uses in the general area include. cattle <br /> grazing, scattered residences, the poultry facility and the adjacent existing mining <br /> operation. <br /> Each parcel included in the Permit Area is designated as "General Agriculture" <br /> (A/G) in the San Joaquin County General Plan.. <br /> Resource recovery such as the proposed KRC expansion may be permitted within <br /> land use areas designated for General Agriculture and Open Space Resource <br /> Conservation with.an approved Quarry Excavation permit. <br /> The parcels composing the project site are currently under Williamson Act <br /> contracts. According to the County Development Title (Section 9- <br /> f 1810.3(b)(1)(w)), property under contract may be used for quarry operations, <br /> provided the sites are rehabilitated for agricultural uses. <br /> I. Aesthetics: Discuss the visual impact of the proposed..... p _._�posed mining operation from <br /> adjacent vantage points — Operations in the existing permit area are located in a <br /> rural area of rolling hills such that mining and processing operations are generally <br /> not visible from nearby homes and or public roads. The proposed Permit Area is <br /> adjacent to the existing mine site in similar terrain such that visual impacts are <br /> ' expected to continue to be minimal. <br /> II.
