San Joaquin County
` Environmental Health Department
304 E. Weber Ave, Third Floor
Stockton, CA 95202
Subject: Mountain House,Neighborhood H
Abandoned Phillips-Santucci-BVK 1 Gas Well
Condor Project No. 4601K
Dear Mr. Huggins:
Condor has reviewed the documents (attached) from the Resources Agency of California, Department of
Conservation, Division of Oil, Gas, and geothermal Resources (DOGGR) regarding the Phillips-
! Santucci-BVK 1 gas well installed by the Natural Gas Corporation of California on Assessor's Parcel
I. Number 209-040-03 as shown on Figure 1, attached. The well as mapped is located within the northern
portion of the planned Mountain House Neighborhood H subdivision.
LIt is our understanding, based on the attached records, that Natural Gas Corporation of California drilled
the Phillips-Santucci-BVK 1 gas well, consisting of one boring with two casings in later part of 1981
L under a Permit to Conduct Well Operations approved by the DOGGR The outer most casing is a
conductor pipe with a 13-3/4-inch diameter that was placed to an unknown depth. The inner casing is a
surface pipe with a 9-5/8-inch diameter that was cemented into place with the bottom end at a depth of
1000 feet. Drilling continued through the surface pipe to a total depth below existing ground surface of
8,437 feet. The well was plugged with cement at a depth of 1195 feet and redrilled to a total depth of
4,596 feet below existing ground surface. Natural Gas Corporation of California applied to abandon the
well on December 8, 1981, approved by the DOGGR, and completed, including restoring the site to the
original condition, in September 1981. No production was reported in the abandonment notice. The well
was filled with cement from 1050 to 733 feet, and from 733 to approximately 500 feet, and from 25 feet
to ground surface. The well casing was reportedly removed to five feet below ground surface with a steel
cap welded to the top of casing. The abandonment and restoration was approved in a letter dated October
L 18, 1982 written by John C. Sullivan of the DOGGR to Natural Gas Corporation of California, attached.
L
