vi
March 28, 2007 _✓
NOA Project Number: E06122A
5.1 Soil Boring Locations
Four soil borings were advanced on the Site. Two borings were drilled to a depth of approximately
25 feet. Two borings were drilled to a depth of approximately 3 feet. The soil borings were used
later forp ercolation test holes; the locations of the borings are indicated in Plate 1.
5.2 Soil Boring Dimensions
The soil borings were approximately 3 feet and 25 feet deep,as noted above, and were four inches
in diameter.
5.3 Soil Lithology Observed
Generally, the soil encountered in the boring is similar to the soils reported by the San Joaquin
County Soil Survey for the area (USDA, 1992). Table 4 presents the soil logs for the 25 foot deep
i soil borings. The soils were found to be similar at both locations. Conditions were also comparable
C in the shallower borings on each parcel.
.i Table 3.
Soil Boring Log Subject Property Shallow and Dee
Cl
Depth Interval(ft) Soil Type Unified Soil Classification
_s 0.3 Dark brown clay,moist
CL
3-15 Brown fine silty clay CL
F}f 8.25 Brown sil cla ,moist CL
Note:Descriptions are representative of soil conditions encountered in both shallow and deep borings.
5.4 Discussion of Soil Lithology
4 A visual inspection of the deep soils from on-site drilling indicates some potential for satisfactory
= percolation. A percolation test is the best method to determine the suitability of the soils for a
septic disposal area. Please see the next section for percolation test results. Generally speaking,
coarser grained soils have much greater potential for percolation than fine-grained soils.
G y
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION
6.1 Percolation Test Locations
A site map indicating the locations of the percolation test holes is included as Plate 1 of this report.
 t
6
i
