I ,
DIL&a
Nov. 13, 1992
San Joaquin County Planning Division
1810 East Hazelton
Stockton, Calif. 95205
Dear Commissioners: R
The Solari Family farms lands which are adjacent to and
across Foppiano Lane from the proposed Morada development. ,
We have extensive acreage devoted to cherries and walnuts in
the Morada area and have farmed for over 100 years in Morada.
The Solari Family is opposed to the proposed development
as it will seriously impact our ability to continue to farm
in the area. Homesites in a predominantly agricultural area
would create several land use conflicts, primarily these re- i
late to noise, odor, dust, use 6f pesticides and herbicides,
aerial and ground spraying, trespassing and vandalism.
Approval of this project will set a precedent for future
conversions of prime agricultural lands to the east of the
project to the south of Foppiano Lane.
The project is inconsistent with several policies of the
San Joaquin County general plan which protect and encourage ,
agricultural use and to minimize disruption to viable agricul-
ture operations . 1
As stated in the E.I.R report there is no mitigation for
the loss of prime agricultural land.
As residents of Morada we are also concerned of the nega-
tive impact any new development will have on increased traffic,
school overcrowding, water supply and the contamination of well
water in the area. G
The Solari Family ask the residents of Morada and the
planning commissioners to vote NO to the proposed Morada
development, lnpGicv,a, S -9- ooh
Signed
;Iav 161992
YUMMUNII1 UCVCLVrIVILHi UrPT
PANNINP n„'I -
6302 E.
