We always have, and always will, where possible,
choose a natural, environmentally We means to deal with waste, pests, dust, etc. We
have been and shall:remain committed to reducing, reusing, and recycling everything that
we can, including w ia.ste from other industries.
I, Waste Generation Analysis
A. Types ol;'solid waste include general household garbage, baling twine, and
i plastic or paper bags that contain feeds. There is also solid waste
gene f ated by the horses, specifically manure and periodic hoof pieces.
There ase no hazardous wastes produced on this property. Vehicle main-
tenance is performed off-site at licensed garages, auto repair and/or oil
change businesses. When we buy new tires for any vehicle, the old tires
j are breught home to be re-used for various jobs around the ranch.
B. Household garbage is less than 100 yards annually. We have had a 2 yard
dumpster with Stockton Scavenger with weekly pickup for many years. It
usually is not full. 2 yards x 52 weeks equals 104 yards potentially, annually.
Baling#wine is re-used on the ranch in a large variety of ways. We also offer
it to local farmers to be re-used in their orchards, tying young trees. What
little isnot re-used, can be recycled with other plastics and/or be placed in
the duriipster. Paper bags from feed purchases are made from re-cycled paper
and are, placed in the dumpster if not re-used- Plastic feed sacks are re-used
time and again for parts, organizing items, carrying supplies, etc. When no
longer viable to be re-used anymore, they are re-cycled w/the plastic or
placed into the dumpster. The farm related waste that actually goes into the
dumpster is included in the above figures of less than 104 yards annually.
The horse hoof pieces that are periodically removed by the farrier are re-rased
as dog chew toys, much like the cow hoof and pig ears sold commercially.
The manure generated is approximately one yard per day, or 365 yards
` annually. This is spread and dished into our own land for self-fertilizing,
s removed from this location to be re-cycled as fertilizer for local farmers and/or
taken to a composting operation for composting and re-cycling as fertilizer.
.I
