SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY
Introduction
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Adrian and Ruth
Fondse to conduct a Soil Suitability Study for their property located at 21025 South
Carrolton Road, Ripon, California (Plate 1).
The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for
use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of
Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development Code.
The formatting of the report has been designed to follow the recommendations of the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil
Suitability Study Requirements Checklist.
Proposed Development
A minor subdivision is proposed to divide the Site into a two-acre homesite parcel and a
38-acre designated remainder (Plate 2). Mr. Fondse indicated that no changes to the
use of the Site are planned.
Site Deschtion
The Site consists of Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 245-220-01, approximately 40
acres in size. It is located at 21025 South Carrolton Road, Ripon, California. The Site
is an almond orchard with a house and garage. A domestic well provides water to the
Site (Plate 3).
The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic
map, is approximately 75 to 80 feet above mean sea level (Plate 4). The Site is
relatively flat.
The San Joaquin County Community Development Department web site states that the
Site is zoned AG-40, general agriculture with a minimum parcel size of 40 acres. This
zoning designation "is established to preserve agricultural lands for the continuation of
commercial agricultural enterprises."
LOGE 1618 Page 1
