PRESENT AND PAST USE
At the time of this investigation, the study area consisted of vacant land. Based on information
provided by the property owner, agricultural uses, primarily the grazing of horses and cattle,
are the only known site uses. No known commercial or residential uses of the study area are
4 known.
Ft 3. SEPTIC PERMITS AND PERFORMANCE
SJCEHD files were searched to identify septic permits at parcels in the project vicinity. There
were no permits on file for the parcels proposed for development. Twelve permits were
reviewed for eight parcels located adjacent to or near the subject property. These permits were
f- for new installations and repairs/additions to existing septic systems. Each of the permitted
residential sewage disposal systems was for conventional septic/leach field systems with 25-
foot deep seepage pits. A summary of the permit information is presented on Plate 2, and
^ copies of the permits are attached.
4. GROUNDWATER
1
Groundwater was not encountered in our soil profile borings drilled for this investigation.
Lines of Equal Depth to Groundwater contour maps published in groundwater reports by the
San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (1982 to 1999) show
groundwater levels in the protect area ranging from about 120 to 165 feet below ground
surface. Based on Lines of Equal Elevation of Groundwater contour maps, the groundwater
gradient in the project area is generally from east to west. Local gradient variations may occur
due to well usage.
Groundwater is not currently used at the site. At the time of our investigation, a well was being
" installed for the proposed residence at Lot 17 (Parcel 021-030-53). A domestic well will be
- installed at each of proposed residential lots. We anticipate that the predominant use of
groundwater at the residences will be for domestic and landscaping purposes.
As the only well existing on the lot was newly drilled and still not functioning, samples of
groundwater were not tested.
Pit
57556.G0]/ST05R687 June 10,2005
O 2005 Kleinfelder,Inc.
