• Past Uses of the Site
Based on information reviewed for the Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report
(Live Oak, 2018), the Site has been used for agriculture since 1937 or earlier. The
house and shed on the northern parcel of the Site appear to have been constructed in
the 1930s or earlier. The house on the southern parcel was constructed around 2007.
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
Two septic systems are located on the Site, one at each house.
Proposed Septic System
No new construction is planned.
On-Site Septic Permit History
Live Oak searched the septic system permits on file at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department; two permits were identified for the Site addresses:
• March 1993 permit for new septic system at an existing residence (11418). The
system included a 1,600-gallon tank, three 40-foot leach lines, and three 36-inch
diameter by 25-foot deep seepage pits. The permit notes that "this is a new
septic system for existing home. Old tank destroyed."
• December 2006 permit for new septic system at residence (6655). The system
included a 1,600-gallon tank, three 60-foot leach lines, and three 42-inch
diameter by 25-foot deep seepage pits.
The septic permits have been included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems located within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Aerial
imagery from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photograph was
assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that 30 or more
septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The general area consists of orchards, with rural residences along the roadways.
•
LOGE 1845 Page 2
