Weber Street, Third Floor
Stockton, CA 95202
Subject: Additional Subsurface Investigation Workplan, Fayette Manufacturing Corporation
Site, 7675 West Eleventh Street, Tracy, California
Dear Mr. Henderson:
ATC Associates Inc. (ATC) reviewed a letter issued to Dr. A.R. Glover on August 17, 2004, by the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD). The letter included a summary of
EHD's review of the Summary Report of Additional Subsurface Investigation dated August 11, 2004,
prepared by ATC.
In response to the EHD letter, ATC has prepared this workplan on behalf of Dr. A.R. Glover to
perform additional subsurface investigation activities at the above referenced site. The scope of work
includes the installation of two shallow groundwater monitoring wells and resumption of quarterly
groundwater monitoring. The scope of work is described in detail in the following paragraphs.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The site is located at 7675 West Eleventh Street, between MacArthur Drive and Chrisman Road, in
Tracy, California (Figure 1). The property is owned by Dr. A.R. Glover and is operated as a lumber
yard. On October 15, 1986,two 500-gallon gasoline underground storage tanks(USTs)were removed
from the site. During removal of the USTs, petroleum product was noted in the southern UST
excavation (Figure 2). Soil samples were collected from two feet below the bottom of the USTs, and
petroleum constituents and lead were detected in the soil samples.
On July 18, 1.995, Smith Technology supervised the installation of three groundwater monitoring
wells, MW-1,MW-2, and MW-3 (Figure 2). During installation of the monitoring wells, soil samples
were collected from the borings. On July 21, 1995, Smith Technology developed and sampled
monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3. Analytical results of the soil and groundwater samples
collected indicated elevated concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons were present in the soil and
groundwater downgradient of the former gasoline UST locations.
sAl7861\reports\wellinstwkpin.doc I
ENVIRONMENTAL, GEOTECHNICAL AND MATERIALS PROFESSIONALS
