2.2 Proposed Development
A minor subdivision is proposed to divide the Site into two approximately 160-acre
parcels (Plate 3). Mr. Borba indicated that he has no plans to change the land uses in
the future.
2.3 Topography
A recent U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map was obtained from the
San Joaquin County District Viewer. In the map, the Site is depicted as open land
located at 100 to approximately 107 feet above mean sea level. Surrounding properties
are shown to be primarily open land. Two wells are depicted on the topographic map,
one on the eastern side of the Site and one near the center of the Site. One structure is
depicted on the southern side of the Site. This map is included as Plate 4 in Appendix
1.
3.0 HISTORICAL RESEARCH
3.1 Aerial Photographs
Live Oak reviewed aerial photographs of the Site provided by the San Joaquin County
Surveyor's Office in Stockton, California. The available photographs were dated 1937,
1952, 1963, and 1975. Two additional photographs, dated October 1998, and
September 2008, were obtained from the San Joaquin County District Viewer. These
photos are included in Appendix 3 of this report.
In the 1937 photo, the Site appears to be open land with natural topography. An
irrigation canal crosses the Site. One small structure or object is located on the
northern side of the Site. The surrounding properties are also open land.
In the 1952 photo, the Site appears to be leveled, irrigated pasture. One structure is
located on the southern side of the Site, and one or more structures or corrals are
located on the eastern side of the Site. The road to the south of the Site (currently
Dodds Road) is labeled "Commeta Road." A few new rural residences can be seen on
nearby properties.
In the 1963 photo, no significant changes are apparent.
In the 1975 photo, new dairies can be seen adjacent to the southwest and west of the
Site. The far northern portion of the Site is not included in the photo.
In the 1998 and 2008 photos, the two building clusters which currently exist on the Site
can be seen. A new dairy can be seen to the northwest of the Site.
~- LOGE 1414 Page 2
