Past Uses of the Site
Based on information reviewed for the Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report
(Live Oak, 2014), portions of the Site have been used for irrigated agrculture since 1952
or earlier. Many of the structures on the Site are approximately 100 years old.
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
According to Paul Calosso, three septic systems are currently located on the Site, one
for each house and one for the office.
Proposed Septic System
Paul Calosso indicated that no new construction is planned for the Site.
On-Site Septic Permit History
Two permits related to septic systems for the Site were identified at the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department:
• July 1972 permit for 1,200-gallon replacement tank and addition of one 50-foot
leach line and two 33-inch diameter by 25-foot deep seepage pits at existing 03 0,J
residential system (southern residence).
• February 1975 permit for addition of 40-foot leach line and 33-inch diameter by
25-foot deep seepage pit to existing system at mobile home (current location of
small office, per Paul Calosso).
These permits are included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems that exist within approximately nine square miles surrounding the property.
Aerial imagery from GoogleEarth was used. Each building cluster on the photograph C
was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that one or
more septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The general area consists of pastureland and vineyards with occasional rural
residences.
LOGE 1419 Page 2
