Soil Borings
On September 10, 2014 through January 26, 2015, Live Oak excavated shallow or
shallow and deep soil borings on Parcels 1 through 15 of the Site for the purpose of
conducting percolation tests. The borings were four inches in diameter, 3.20 to 23.70
feet deep, and were excavated by hand auger (Table 2). The locations of the borings
are indicated on Plate 10. Two percolation tests were conducted on Parcel 2 due to an
error in the field.
The soils in the borings were similar to those described by the Soil Survey. At locations
P1 through P5, clayey silt was encountered to the full depth of each boring, 3.27 to 3.35
feet. At location P6, sandy silt, sandy, clayey silt, and silty sand were encountered to
the full depth of the boring, 10.30 feet. At location P7, sandy silt was encountered to a
depth of 10.0 feet, followed by sand to the full depth of the boring, 15.00 feet. At
location P8, sandy, clayey silt was encountered to the full depth of the boring, 3.40 feet.
At locations P9, P10, P13, P14, and P15, cobbles with clay were encountered to a
depth of 5.0 feet, followed by clayey silt to the full depth of the borings (5.00 to 18.3
feet). At location P11, sandy, clayey silt was encountered to a depth of 8.0 feet,
followed by sand with gravel to the full depth of the boring, 9.00 feet. At location P12,
cobbles with silty sand were encountered to a depth of 3.0 feet, followed by clayey silt to
a depth of 21.0 feet, followed by fine sand to the full depth of the boring, 23.70 feet.
The logs for the soil borings are presented in Plates 11 through 18.
