I considering planting both parcels with cherry trees (personal communication, August
13, 2009). The tentative map is presented as Plate 3 in Appendix 1.
2.3 Topoaraphy
A recent U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map was obtained from' the
San Joaquin County District Viewer. In the map, the Site is depicted as a vineyard. A
creek crosses near the center of the Site. The property is approximately 75 feet above
mean sea level in an area with a slight grade down to the southwest. Surrounding
properties are primarily shown to be vineyards, with a few structures depicted along
Dustin and Peltier Roads. This map is included as Plate 4 in Appendix 1.
3.0 HISTORICAL RESEARCH
✓3.1Aerial Photographs
LOGE reviewed aerial photographs of the Site at the San Joaquin County Surveyor's
Office in Stockton, California. The available photographs were dated 1937, 1952, 1963,
1975, and 1983. Two additional photographs, dated 1998 and 2006, were obtained
from the San Joaquin County District Viewer.
1
In the 1937 photo, the northern half of the Site appears to be orchard, while the
southern half appears to be vineyard; a creek divides the halves. Surrounding
properties appear to be vineyards, orchards, crop land, and rural residences.
In the 1952 photo, no significant changes are apparent.
In the 1963 photo, it appears that the Site has been cleared of orchard and vineyard. A
residence is apparent to the immediate southwest.
In the 1975 photo, no significant changes are apparent. The scale of this photo is such
that determining Site-specific details is difficult.
In the 1983 photo, the entire Site appears to be a vineyard.
In the 1998 photo, an area has been cleared at the northwest corner of the Site.
In the 2006 photo, a rural residence is apparent at the northwest comer of the Site. A
recessed area can be seen at the northeast corner. It appears that the entire Site has
f been cleared of vineyard. An unknown small object, possibly a soil mound, can be seen
near the center of the Site.
5
These photos are included in Appendix 3 of this report.
LOGE0912 Page 2
