Based upon the number of employees given in the application. this water system will <br /> be classified as a non-community, non-transient water system according to State <br /> regulations and will require an annual permit to operate from this Division. The <br /> existing well shall meet California Code of Regulations, Title 22, drinking water <br /> standards. Construction of a new source shall require an Environmental Health <br /> Division permit and inspection (San Joaquin County Development Title, Section 9- <br /> 1115.3). <br /> F. The well must be repaired under permit and inspection by the Environmental Health <br /> Division (San Joaquin County Development Title Section 9-1115.4(e)) as follows: <br /> G. Agricultural discharge pipes utilizing an air gap for backflow prevention shall ' <br /> maintain an air gap equal to the size of the discharge pipe, but not less than 6 inches. <br /> The discharge pipe shall also have two 'A inch slits extending 6 inches from the <br /> bottom of the pipe and opposite each other or a backflow device approved by San <br /> Joaquin County must be installed. <br /> H. Install sanitary seal. <br /> 1. Install cement surface seal around well casing to sufficiently protect well casing the <br /> integrity of well grout. <br /> J. Raise well casing 12 inches above ground level. <br /> K. Provide sample tap prior to pressure tank. <br /> L. Properly seal drop pipe into the well by providing a threaded steel cap or similar <br /> device. <br /> M. Destruction or proper sealing the abandoned well(s)under permit and inspection by <br /> the Environmental Health Division is required if the well does not meet Title 22 <br /> drinking water standards. (San Joaquin County Development Title Section 9- <br /> 1115.5(e)) <br /> N. Submit application for a hazardous waste permit to the Environmental Health <br /> Division. <br /> ORD/EHD <br /> i <br /> O. If door drains are required, they must be plumbed through a sand/oil separator and <br /> discharged to an above ground system approved by the Environmental Health <br /> Division. This system must be designed by a registered engineer. The material <br /> collected in the above ground holding system must be analyzed for hazardous <br /> constituents prior to disposal. Specific test requirements may be obtained from the <br /> Environmental Health Division.
