On-Site Wells
According to the site plan, one domestic well exists on the Site. An irrigation well was
also observed on the Site (Plate 3). Two well permits for the Site address were
identified from San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department records:
• June 1979 permit for pump replacement (well type not specified);
• December 1992 permit for pump replacement at domestic well.
These permits are included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Water Sample
The domestic well on the Site is not currently operational because power was cut to the =(
Site during the response to the fire. No water sample has been collected as part of this
study. Ms. Rose indicated that the San Joaquin County—Eavi[4nmental Health
Department waived the requirement for a water sample 6n July 20, 2"
Soil Profile and Geologic Information
The Site is depicted on the Preliminary Geologic map showing Quaternary deposits of
the Lodi Quadrangle, California (Marchand and Atwater, 1979). The Site is depicted
within map units of the Modesto Formation upper member ("foothill-derived alluvial silt,
clay and minor sand following distributaries across lower fans; abundant volcanic
detritus") and lower member ("Qml [arkosic alluvium forming Mokelumne River alluvial
fan; chiefly sand; probably glacial outwash] and Qm1b [basin alluvium derived from the
Mokelumne and Calaveras Rivers; includes arkosic alluvium, probably glacial outwash,
and locally-derived materials, chiefly fine sand and silt] deposits overlain by 0.5 to 1.5 m
pJ of Qm2fb deposits [foothill-derived basin and interdistributary overbank alluvium; chiefly
clay and silt])" (Plate 7). !.
The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the USDA Web
Soil Survey to be composed of Jacktone clay, 0 to 2 percent slopes (Plate 8) (USDA,
2013).
