Photograph"E" is (or was)the burning pile on the
bank of the river. Photograph"F" is typical of the orchard at the 65' elevation. (Parcel 1) The
levees contain the Mokelumne River during normal or seasonal high flows.
The predominate soil classification is San Joaquin -Bruella, described in the USDA Soil Survey
a of San Joaquin County as follows: Moderately well drained and well drained, moderately course
textured soils that are moderately deep to a cemented hardpan or are very deep, on low terraces.
Slope is less than I%. Where this unit is used for homesite development, the main limitation is
depth to the hardpan in the soils. The suitability for onsite sewage desposal is difficult because of
the slow permeability of the San Joaquin soils.
y -!The map Lines of Equal Depth to Groundwater, Spring 1999, SJC Flood Control and Water
Conservation District shows approximately 100'to static water.
2.
i
i /
