SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br /> Introduction <br /> Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc (Live Oak) was contracted by Thomas Holmes to <br /> conduct a Soil Suitability Study for his property located at 15495 East Highway 88, <br /> Lockeford, California (Plate 1). <br /> The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for <br /> use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of <br /> Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. <br /> The formatting of the report has been designed to follow the recommendations of the <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil <br /> Suitability Study Requirements Checklist. <br /> Proposed Development <br /> The proposed project is a minor subdivision to divide the property into a numbered <br /> parcel and a designated remainder (Plate 2). No change in Site use is anticipated. <br /> Site Description l <br /> The Site, Assessor's Parcel Numbers (APN) 019-170-09 and -19, is approximately 140 <br /> acres in size. The Site consists of vineyard and cherry orchard. A recent aerial <br /> photograph of the Site is included as Plate 3. <br /> The site topography consists of a river flood plain on the west and a higher terrace on <br /> the east. The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey <br /> topographic map, ranges from 75 feet above mean sea level on the western side to 110 <br /> feet above mean sea level on the eastern side (Plate 4). <br /> ; <br /> The San Joaquin County Community Development Department web site states that the <br /> Site is zoned AG-40, general agriculture with a minimum parcel size of 40 acres. This <br /> zoning designation "is established to preserve agricultural lands for the continuation of <br /> commercial agricultural enterprises." <br /> Past Uses of the Site <br /> Based on information reviewed for the Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report <br /> (Live Oak, 2012), the Site has been agricultural land since 1937 or earlier. <br /> LOGE 1209 Page 1 <br />
