e r
 kk
t
The groundwater from the School's well is slightly alkaline at pH 7.3. pH measures the hydrogen
concentration and is important in the formation of nitrate. If the pH is below 7.0, the ammonium
ion (NH4) predominates and nitrate formation can readily take place. If the pH is above 7.0,
ammonia (NH3)predominates, thus impeding nitrate formation.
Regarding surface water, there are no bodies of water in the proximity of the proposed Kingdom
Hall, other than designated stormwater detention basins. The subject site is outside the 100-year
flood zone.
V. PROPOSED SEPTIC SYSTEM LOADING AND OPERATIONAL DESIGN
' The following calculations are based upon information provided too our
firm in addition to San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department requirements. It is our understanding the
Kingdom Hall will conduct meetings under the following tentative scheduling:
g
t
SUNDAYS:
150 Parishioners in each of two Auditoriums = 300 people @ ea. meeting
Three sets of meetings: 9am-12pm, 12pm-3pm and 3pm-6pm; therefore, total of 900 people/Sunday
TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY EVENINGS:
7pm-9pm total of 300 people each evening
NO MEETINGS FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND MONDAY
i
There will also be husband and wife caretakers on-site in the evenings and all day on Mondays.
This apartment will include a kitchenette without a garbage disposal. There will be no kitchen for
the Auditoriums.
4
The total anticipated daily wastewater flow will be: 900 Parishioners x 5 gals/person x one day/wk=
I-- 4,500 gallons + 300 Parishioners x 5 gals/person x 3 days/wk= 4500 + Two people/day x 50
1
gals/person x 7 days/wk= 700: 4500 + 4500 + 700 = 9700 gals/wk_7 days/wk= 1400 gals/day.
(1400 gals=Average Daily Flow-ADF). The Calculated Tank Capacity (CTC) is as follows: Base
Tank Capacity (BTC) =2000 gals+ 1400 gals ADF =3400 gals CTC. Therefore, two- 2000 gallon
septic tanks in series must be used. This will ensure 24 hour detention times for most of the sewage
r after every Sunday's flow.
Leachline requirements are as follows: 3400 gals CTC x 0.250 soil factor = 850 lineal feet of
leachline required. There will be four, five-foot diameter seepage pits, 25 feet deep. These four pits
are equivalent to 440 feet of leachline ( one - 60" dia. pit= 110 ft leachline).
4
.
