Y
I : VI. SOIL PROFILE AND PERCOLATION TESTS
One test hole was excavated to a depth of 3.5 feet in the area of the
homesite. The purpose of the test hole was to determine percolation rate in this
area. For approximate location of the test hole, see the Tentative Parcel Map in the
Appendix. The hole was prepared in accordance with County Standards.
Generally the surface soils consisted of a loam. As shallow percolation tests ✓
proved adequate for conventional septic systems, no further soil exploration was
necessary.
One percolation test was performed in a hole with 8 inches in diameter by 42
inches deep backfilled with 2 inches of gravel. The one hole was filled with water
24 hours prior to running the test. The test hole for Parcel 1 was performed under
a 4 hour test. The last half hour of the tests reading for Parcel 1 were witnessed
by a County Health Official and the test data obtained is enclosed in the Appendix.
`4 Parcel Number Percolation Rate
1 30 min./in.
VII. GROUNDWATER
A Groundwater test was performed on the westerly adjacent property well.
The results can be found in the appendix.
r ,
VIII. ' CONCLUSION
Based on the results of the percolation test and the soil profile, it is Dillon &
Murphy's opinion that the existing homesite resulting from the proposed parcel split
of the subject property is suited for a typical on-site sewage disposal system. The
proposed system, however, should be properly designed and installed according to
' the current San Joaquin County criteria.
Based on the depth to ground water in the area, and the size of the proposed
parcel, it is our opinion that the installation of any new proposed septic system, if
properly installed, should not adversely affect the quality of ground water in the
area.
.4*
2
CA02511 SOILS REPORT 112202
