Hazelton Ave. <br /> Stockton, CA 95205-6298 <br /> RE: Ripon Farm Service PA-0600609 <br /> Dear Ms. Carter; <br /> I am formally requesting a continuance on behave of myself and husband, Robert and <br /> Marge Imfeld(17477 E. Hwy 120, Ripon), property owners two parcels east of the <br /> proposed project. The rescheduled date of August 16, 2007 is the day we leave for our <br /> 40d'Anniversary 3-week trip to Europe. I am asking that continuance be granted and <br /> postponed until September 20, 2007. 1 am requesting that this letter be presented at the <br /> next meeting of the Commiccion, July 19,2007, for response. Unlike the Applicant,I <br /> choose to request this continuance well in advance of the rescheduled meeting date of <br /> August 16'h to allow"all"parties to prepare appropriately. <br /> Here are my reasons for granting the continuance: <br /> 1. The Applicant has request now three times for a"continuance"for a variety of, in my <br /> opinion,marginal reasons. Hearing dates were April 19m, May 3rd, and July 5th. <br /> Case in point, at your meeting July 5, 2007,the request from the Applicant was based <br /> solely on the fact that there were only four Commissioners present. Four is a quorum, <br /> and I question why that was not sufficient to conduct the hearing. Robert's Rules of <br /> Order concur that as long as a quorum is present, motions may be made and acted upon. <br /> 2. Both on July 51°and May 3`d, we had several of our neighbors present for the hearing, <br /> and each time we were sent home without an answer. Since the Applicant has been <br /> granted three continuances at the 12'" hour, perhaps one for the Opponents may be "fair <br /> play". And, because I am asking well in advance of the August I&rescheduled date, all <br /> parties will have ample time to notify their constituents. <br /> 3. 1 am the neighborhood Realtor. As a resident of the immediate area, I, along with <br /> Charles Rivara(representing his parents Mr. & Mrs. John Rivara), have prepared a well <br /> planned power point presentation.
