French Camp Rd., Ripon, APN 203-220-21
Dear Mr. Griffin:
This office represents Mr. John Aguilar, an adjacent property owner to the
proposed site location of Ripon Farm Service. I am writing at this time to object to Ripon
Farm Service's proposal to relocate to 17266 E. French Camp Road for the following
reasons:
1. Ripon Farm Service is not a good corporate neighbor. Ripon Farm
Service has contributed to nitrate contamination at its current location. On May 31, 2006,
the Source Group, Inc., prepared and issued an expert report that concluded:
"The Ripon Farm Services (RFS) site is a source of nitrate contamination in the
local groundwater. Water quality data collected from monitoring wells recently
installed near the RFS liquid bulk fertilizer storage facility clearly show the effect
of this source . . . The only known nitrate concentrations of such magnitude are
observed in shallow groundwater immediately adjacent to the RFS water supply
well at the RFS liquid fertilizer storage facility." (A copy of the report is
enclosed.)
Ripon Fann Service still denies responsibility even though the Source Group,
Inc., a team of expert geologists, hydrogeologists and engineers, has reported the
contrary. Now Ripon Farm Service requests permission to move to a rural residential
area rather than clean up the nitrate mess it created in its current location. If Ripon Faun
