BARN FARMS
9635 S.Nlolfe RoadFCEiV _
French Camp,Calif. 95231 JELc
NOV ^
comm,,,, 21999
To The San Joaquin Planning commission: yUtvtu 19 `uc
Dear Sirs,
I am writing this letter in regards to the slaughterhouse that
Richard Stagno wants to build at 690 W. Frewert Road in Lathrop.
We have a thirteen acre piece of ground just to the south of his
property and intended to build a house and pasture for our
horses there. We did know he had that little holding area and we
knew he had been slaughtering some animals there as our employee
who lives in a house on our property, had been talking to his men living
on his place.
But to think he is going to put a 5,500 square foot slaughterhouse
and a 3,200 square foot storage shed plus the waste water pond
on a lousy 13 acre piece of ground just seems like too much for
our area. In fact, now that he says you're a bunch of"damn idiots'
he wants to build an even bigger slaughter house. He picked
this area because it is an agricultural area. People also live here.
Our driveway is the same driveway that they use and trucks going
in and out all day with 500 animals a day to slaughter is going to
be a mess.
Escalon, where he lives is also an agricultural area. Why didn't he
buy a 13 acre piece of ground over there to put this slaughter house??
He didn't because he doesn't want this place in his own back yard
-69-
