FWASTE STORAGE
DISCUSSION OF METHODS THAT WILL BE USED TO STORE SOLID AND HAZARDOUS WASTE ON-
SITE,PRIOR TO COLLECTION FOR DIVERSION OR DISPOSAL,INCLUDING DISCUSSION OF TYPES
ClOF STORAGE CONTAINERS TO BE USED,LOCATION OF STORAGE AREAS ON-SITE PLAN AND
ACCESS TO STORAGE AREAS BY COLLECTION VEHICLES.
Domestic waste that cannot be recycled, will be stored in a dumpster for biweekly pick-up. This
dumpster will be placed near the home by the access road used by the feed trucks. Therefore, the
Gilton Solid Waste garbage truck can remain on the access road for convenience. This dumpster
location gives easy access to the home and office, and keeps flies, etc. away from the animal
pens. Hazardous wastes will be stored in proper containers, away from the animals.
❑ WASTE COLLECTION
DISCUSSION OF METHODS THAT WILL BE USED TO COLLECT AND TRANSPORT RECYCLABLE
MATERIALS TO MARKET AND SOLID AND HAZARDOUS WASTE TO DISPOSAL SITES.
Domestic recycled material can be stored in bins for each specific material. The recyclable
materials can be secured and taken to the recycling facility in Lathrop in a pickup truck. Small
volumes of hazardous materials/waste will also be transported to disposal sites in a pickup truck.
❑ WASTE DISPOSAL
DISCUSSION OF DISPOSAL FACILITIES THAT WILL BE USED FOR DISPOSAL OF SOLID AND
HAZARDOUS WASTES PRODUCED,INCLUDING IDENTIFICATION OF THE FACILITIES AND
IMPACT ON THE FACILITIES BY THE INCREASED WASTE QUANTITIES.
The domestic hazardous waste generated, which will be a very small volume can be taken to the
collection stations sponsored by the County on publicized days. Commercial hazardous waste
recycling has been discussed above. Impact to these facilities is unknown; however, they can
probably handle the increase in recyclable waste since recycling has been mandated to reduce
landfill waste.
❑ RECORDS
DISCUSSION OF METHODS USED TO REPORT TO COUNTY THE ANNUAL QUANTITIES OF WASTE
DIVERTED AND/OR DISPOSED.
Records will be maintained by the following:
• Off-site manure transport and rendering plant receipts
• Gilton Solid Waste Company receipts
• Receipts for domestic aluminum, paper and glass recycling
• Receipts for transactions of hazardous materials/waste for replaced materials.
Respectfully submitted for the Stagno's Meat Company,
Don Chesney, R.E.A.
Nafky Ag Research
