_ 120 day storage capacity (based on three applications per year, prior to planting sudangrass.) The <br /> current manure storage area is 4,800 ft'which is to be expanded to 7,400 ft . The area is enclosed <br /> with a three foot high retaining wall and will be covered to prevent rainfall infiltration. Manure will <br /> be removed with a front-end loader to a spreader for direct land application or loaded onto a side- <br /> dump truck for transportation off-site. Manure applied to the on-site acreage will be disced into <br /> the soil within 24 firs of application to prevent fly breeding. Fly bait and other types of vector <br /> control will be implemented around the holding pens and manure storage area. During the summer <br /> months, odor from manure storage area may be controlled by odor controlling products. <br /> B. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT <br /> Rainwater runoff from the roofs and paved areas of the facility will be captured by raingutters and <br /> berms and diverted through a below-ground pipe to an existing stormwater detention pond. SLAUGHTERHOUSE OPERATION <br /> • The types of animals listed above are to be processed. <br /> • Live animals are moved from holding pens or come directly off trucks to the rinsing station. <br /> • Live animals are moved to the killing floor where they are bled. <br /> • 99% of all blood will be captured for edible purposes. <br /> • Carcasses then placed in a scalding vat, removed and rinsed. <br /> • Carcasses are moved to a singing area for removal of hair. <br /> • Carcasses are beheaded and gutted. <br /> • All edible portions will be retained for sale. <br /> • All discarded portions will be picked up daily by a tallow operation. <br /> • Carcasses will have a final rinse, weighed and placed in cold storage for shipment. <br /> IV.
