DO measurements above 2.0 ppm indicate conditions are conducive to
aerobic biodegradation.
• Field parameters recorded in the deep well MW-101 are consistent with data from the
water table wells.
Table 4 summarizes the groundwater parameters measured at the site.
4.0 VAPOR EXTRACTION SYSTEM
Internal Combustion Engine—February 2002 to January 2003
The internal combustion engine (I.C.) was set in operation on February 5, 2002. The IC ran
until February 27, 2002 when it was shutdown and removed from the site because it was not
properly controlling emissions. The IC was completely rebuilt and returned to the site on
April 22, 2002 and restarted. The IC operated until late May when it was again removed
from the site due to mechanical failure.
The IC was rebuilt again and returned to the site on June 14. The IC ran continuously from
June 14 to December 10, 2002, when it was shutdown for a spike test. The IC operated
between January 1, 2003 and January 31, 2003. The IC was shutdown due to the end of
operation for both the air permit and cost pre-approval. The IC removed approximately 700
gallons of gasoline from the subsurface during 256 days of operation.
Soil Vapor Extraction System—Current Remediation System
The Soil Vapor Extraction — Granulated Activated Carbon System (SVE) was installed at the
site during September 2004. The SVE was started and air samples collected in the presence
of Lori Duncan, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) and Lisa
