Ms.Lori Duncan
Page 2 of 3 pages
Stockpile and Excavation Sample Collection
Ground Zero collected a 3:1 composite of the stockpile and two (2) floor samples from the
excavation. Soil samples were collected in brass tubes, sealed with Teflon® sheets and plastic caps,
uniquely labeled, temporarily stored on ice in an ice chest cooled to approximately 4°C, and were
delivered under chain of custody protocol to Argon Laboratories of Ceres, California(Argon).
Soil samples were analyzed for the following:
• TPHg, TPHd, and TPHmo by EPA method 8015M
• Full list of VOCs by EPA method 8260B
• LUFT 5 Metals by EPA method 6010B
• pH by SM4500-H+B
Analytical Results
The excavation floor sample and stockpile results are summarized as follows:
Floor 1
• pH was 6.7 pH units
• LUFT metals: Cadmium <1.0 milligrams per kilogram (mg/Kg), Chromium 9.8 mg/Kg, Lead
27 mg/Kg,Nickel 6.1 mg/Kg, and Zinc 64 mg/Kg.
• No other analyzed constituent was reported above laboratory detection limits.
Floor 2
• pH was 6.5 pH units
• LUFT metals: Cadmium <1.0 milligrams per kilogram (mg/Kg), Chromium 8.8 mg/Kg, Lead
11 mg/Kg,Nickel 7.8 mg/Kg, and Zinc 46 mg/Kg.
• No other analyzed constituent was reported above laboratory detection limits.
Stoc ile
• pH was 6.6 pH units
• LUFT metals: Cadmium <1.0 milligrams per kilogram (mg/Kg), Chromium 9.0 mg/Kg, Lead
92 mg/Kg,Nickel 4.4 mg/Kg, and Zinc 440 mg/Kg.
• No other analyzed constituent was reported above laboratory detection limits.
Upon review of the analytical data Ground Zero requested that Argon ran a Soluble Threshold
Limit Concentration (STLC) analysis for lead in the stockpile sample based on California Code
of Regulations Title 22 Limits for Hazardous Waste (CCR 22261.24). The STLC result for lead
in the stockpile sample was 4.3 milligrams per liter (mg/L) and below the threshold of 5.0 mg/L.
The laboratory analytical results are included in Attachment B.
