Soil Suitability Study MS-92-158 , Parcel Nos . 1 & 2
Parcel No. Test Hole Percolation Rate Minimum Usable
No. (Minutes Per Inch) Disposal Area
(Square Feet )
1 N (3 ' ) 30 10 , 000
2 S1 3 ' Not Tested No Recommendation
2 S2 (3 ' ) 20 8 , 000
Recommendations :
Effluent is recommended to be discharged into 10,000 square
feet minimum usable disposal areas for both Parcel Nos . 1 and 2 to
accommodate subsurface horizontal leaching fields . However because
of the clayey nature of the soil encountered at the easterly
boundary of the twenty (20) acre parcel , careful note of the soil
character and nature should be taken at the time of construction at
the specific site selected for a planned septic system.
Well Water Analysis :
Four (4) samples of well water were taken from two ( 2) sources
on the subject property which were at the well and at the homesite.
Two samples , one for nitrate (NO3) and one for Dibromochloropropane
(DBCP) , were taken from each of the sources for a total of four (4)
samples . The well is situate on the north end of the subject
property near the existing home and west of it . The existing
homesite is at the northeast corner of the twenty (20) acre parcel .
The specific locations of both the well and the homesite are shown
on the attached "Parcel Map" .
The results of the tests on the sampled water from the two
sources for Dibromochloropropane (DBCP) and Nitrate (No3) are
tabulated below:
Chemical Constituent
Dibromochloropropane Nitrate Maximum
Contamination
Level
Source (DBCP) tug/LI _ (NO3) (MG/L1 [ ug/L] (mg/L1
Well 1 . 56 33 0. 2 45
(North Boundary)
Homesite 1 . 59 34 0 . 2 45
(Northeast Corner )
The test results for Nitrates (NO3) do not exceed the safe
concentrations established by San Joaquin County for this chemical
at 45 mg/L and no special Nitrate requirements are necessary for
Salvador Cancilla 4
