show signs of ad-hoc alterations, and therefore exhibit only moderate degrees of integrity. In addition, the house _
itself was moved to its current location and all the buildings represent typical, undistinguished examples of
buildings and construction styles of the late 1940s. Consequently, they are unlikely to be determined eligible for
CRHR listing.
'- Buildings/Structures in Grant Line Village
As required by MHMP mitigation,EDAW consulted the County tax assessor's and other government records to
determine the age of on-site buildings and structures. As indicated in Table 4.6-2 and Figure 4.6-3,in addition to
Kirkman Residence,Berkeley Farms Dairy bam,and BBIS ditch, 1 I buildings/structures were found on the
project site that are at least 50 years of age.An additional 12 buildings/structures were found in the project
r boundaries that are not over 50 years of age but would be by project buildout(2025).All 23 additional
buildings/structures are located in Grant Line Village,a residential neighborhood in the northwest comer of the
College Park site.Although additional research will be conducted as the implementation of the project progresses
.. towards the 2025 buildout date, neither Grant Line Village nor any of the buildings or structures noted in Table
4.6-3 appear to be eligible for CRHR listing because of lack of association with important persons or events.
Midway Road (P-01-10614)
Originally constructed in the 1870s as a wagon road between Mountain House and Midway, the Midway Road
today serves as an important transportation link between these two areas. The present-day Midway Road follows
much of its original corridor, although a portion of the route was apparently realigned in the 1960s to
accommodate the construction of the California Aqueduct. Since its construction,Midway Road has been altered
through paving, widening, and realignment.Although the road may have been an important element in the local
transportation system during the latter decades of the 19th century in particular, it possesses no significant
historical associations, and its integrity and setting have been altered considerably. Thus, this resource is neither
considered significant nor eligible for listing on the CRHR.
Because the proposed project does not include Grant Line Village,CRHR eligibility evaluations have not been
conducted for these buildings/structures. Some of these structures may potentially be eligible for listing in the
CRHR,and may represent historic resources.Additional research and CRHR eligibility evaluations(including the
` preparation of California Department of Recreation[DPR] forms)will be required for these buildings/structures if
and/or when specific development proposals are made that may affect these buildings/structures. However, this
area is outside the scope of this project.
4.6.2 REGULATORY SETTING
FEDERAL REGULATIONS
No federal cultural resources regulations apply to the College Park project because the project does not include
any federal actions(i.e.,actions subject to the National Environmental Policy Act[NEPA]).
College Park at Mountain House Specific Plan III Draft EIR EDAW
San Joaquin County 4.6.11 Cultural Resources
