It is thus not considered to represent a potential public health and safety risk.
RESULTS OF THE SITE RECONNAISSANCE
ENGEO conducted a reconnaissance of the project site and off-site infrastructure locations on February 11, 2004
and October 27,2004.The survey area was visually reviewed for evidence of materials storage, staining or
discoloration of surface soils,debris, stressed vegetation, and other conditions that may be indicative of chemical
changes,as well as fill/ventilation pipes,ground subsidence,or other evidence of existing or past USTs.The
following were observed.
domestic water wells and three approximately 500-gallon ASTs in Grant Line Village;
debris(abandoned vehicles,piles of yard clippings,metal debris,rusted empty 55-gallon drums with no
labeling) on the sides of the roads along the BBD:)canals;
signage indicating northwest to southeast trending underground petroleum fuel pipelines and natural gas
pipelines in the central portion of the site;
pole-mounted power lines and approximately 40 pole-mounted transformers,including six transformers that
appeared to be very old with visible exterior staining;
Lucky J Dairy with approximately 600 dairy cows, feed lots,waste pond,and one approximately 1,000-gallon —
fuel AST;
Teixeira Dairy with one approximately 500-gallon diesel AST,one approximately 500-gallon gasoline AST _
(free of staining and odors),two milk ASTs, two domestic water wells,one agricultural production well,and
three dairy waste ponds.
