Exposure to Listed Hazardous Materials Sites The records search did not identify any listed hazardous materials sites on the College Park property or in the Grant Line Road expansion areas.The records search did,however,identify five listed hazardous materials sites(Sites#3,6, 7, 9A,9B,and 15)as occurring in the proposed off-site infrastructure locations(Figure 4.9-2).As indicated in Table 4.9-1,no violations have occurred and no actions are _ required with respect to four of these sites(Sites#6, 9a,9b, and 15).This means that no contamination has been documented at these sites,and that removal of any hazardous materials facilities(storage tanks, drums,etc.)at these sites in accordance with applicable regulations would remove these sites as a source of potential future contamination. Site#3,located at 17300 West Bethany Road(Mountain House W WTP)is the site of a previous oil and hazardous materials release(most likely to Mountain House Creek)where the status is unknown. Site#7,located at the Grant Line Road/Mountain House Parkway intersection(Shell Central Valley Pipelines—former)is the site of a previous petroleum hydrocarbon release where the status is identified as"preliminary assessment underway".Unless any contamination that may exist at these two sites is fully remediated,and any hazardous materials facilities(storage tanks, drums,etc.)are removed in accordance with applicable regulations,project construction activities at either of these two locations could result in the release of pre-existing hazardous materials and potential exposure of construction workers and others to hazardous materials.This would represent a significant impact. Exposure to Potential Asbestos and Lead-based Paint The ESAs indicate that there are multiple structures on the project site that were constructed before 1981 and thus may contain asbestos or lead-based paint which were phased out as permitted construction materials at that time.As indicated in Table 4.6-3 in Section 4.6,"Cultural Resources,"30 parcels on the project site contain one or more structures constructed before 1981.These 30 parcels are listed in Table s 4.9-2.Project-related demolition or renovation of these structures could expose construction workers and others to asbestos or lead-based paint if such materials are present.This would represent a significant impact.
